About Me
Hi, I'm Raimund – a tinkerer, maker, storyteller, and dad. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, where I balance work, family, and my fascination with all things that make life interesting. Here, you'll find a collection of my thoughts, projects, and adventures.
I created this blog as a place to share the stories behind the things I build and the discoveries I make, whether it's crafting a nuthatch birdhouse to patch a hole in the wall, experimenting with a new bread recipe, or diving into some good old-fashioned tinkering. There's something endlessly satisfying about making things with my own hands, and I love learning new ways to create, whether it's with wood, metal, or even ideas.
What You'll Find Here
You'll also find plenty of content here about science, technology, and the journey of a modern family. I have a fascination with astronomy, engineering, and the curious intersections of science that shape our world. On the more down-to-earth side, I also share some of the "tradwife" adventures from our household—like making ginger concentrate or experimenting with pickling whatever bounty our garden provides. My wife Nathalia and daughter Elena are my partners-in-crime for many of these projects, and they often keep me on my toes, offering a fresh perspective to my ideas.
Music & More
When I'm not elbow-deep in a DIY project or cooking something new, you can find me diving into some music. My taste ranges from Leonard Cohen to Swedish metal bands, and I’m always open to discovering something new that stirs the soul. There's nothing quite like finding that perfect soundtrack for an afternoon spent carving wood or just reflecting on life’s intricacies.
